Our work
Inclusion
Age-friendly, disability-friendly and anti-racist practice, built into everything the organisation does.
Inclusion is the organisation's main object, not a side project: First Friend Ireland exists to promote inclusivity, age-friendliness, disability-friendliness, anti-racism and belonging for people living in, working in, or connected to Ireland. This programme area covers the practical work of embedding that in events, training and partnerships.
What this includes
- Programmes, campaigns and training that advance age-friendly and disability-friendly practice
- Anti-racism and social inclusion work across communities
- Removing practical barriers to participation and belonging, in partnership with local authorities, community organisations, schools and employers
Who this is for
- People living with disability
- Older people
- People experiencing racism or exclusion
- Anyone facing barriers to participation
